• As a candidate for membership of the European Union, Kosovo, now led by a young government team, has clearly understood this, and is demonstrating its desire for total emancipation towards a modern democracy.
• Kosovo’s Ambassador to France, Mr Mehdi HALIMI, called on the international expertise of his friend from Lille, Mr Michael Deboudt, Chairman of the Polaris Conseil Group.
• Mr. Jean Réveillon was also approached. A former director general of France 2 and previously of the European Broadcasting Union (Eurovision), based in Geneva. A native of the Pas-de-Calais region who still lives there, Jean Réveillon has supported the development of public broadcasting in many countries, notably in Eastern Europe, and particularly in 2005 in Kosovo, where he was commissioned by the UN to set up a modern public broadcasting service in Pristina, RTK Radio-Télévision Kosovare. The aim was to recreate a dialogue between the different peoples called upon to live together in a territory emerging from a horrific war. Today, RTK boasts four channels that are highly appreciated by the population.
• Kosovo is the first to mobilize us, and it’s clearly an opportunity that the CICES has decided to seize, by imagining and creating itself for the occasion.
